HESPERIA LAKE: Catfish plant last Thursday and this Thursday. Catfish action has been fair to good. Top catfish reported include an 8-pounder caught by Elisco Hernandez, San Bernardino, on the marshmallow-meal worm (M&M) combo. Oddball catch of the week was a 10-pound striper landed by Tony and Jacquelyn Sampson, Yucaipa. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: Fair to good trout action with best action still before 10 a.m. Most of the rainbows at 2 pounds. Best bite has been on PowerBait (especially salmon peach, rainbow and spring green), jigs, lures  and nightcrawlers. The catfish bite has also been pretty good for the few anglers fishing nightcrawlers and shrimp. Bass have been good on Senkos and nightcrawlers. Slow other species.
