HESPERIA LAKE: Continued good trout action with plants last week and this week. Top fish reported this week was a 13-pound rainbow landed by David Proventore, Pinon Hills, on Velveeta cheese. Greg Polh, Chino, had a 10-pounder, while Noah Standater, Hesperia, landed a 9-8. PowerBait, small trout jigs, and garlic nightcrawlers have been the best baits. JESS RANCH LAKES: Trout action was fair to good on both lakes this week. The best bite has been on PowerBait (especially Spring Green, Garlic and Salmon peach), jigs, and nightcrawlers. Jose Fernandez, Placentia, landed an 8-7 rainbow. Bass are moving into the spawn with fish to five pounds reported. Catfish are also starting to turn on. MOJAVE NARROWS: There are weekly plants of trout by the county on Thursday, and the DFW added trout this week. The trout bite has been fair to good on PowerBait, nightcrawlers, and Mice Tails. Isaiah Gold, Rancho Cucamonga, landed a 4-8 rainbow trout on an orange Mice Tails from Horseshoe Lake. Still a fair catfish bite, mostly on nightcrawlers and cut baits.
