 HESPERIA LAKE: There has been fair to good catfish action and relatively light fishing pressure. The next catfish plant is slated for this Thursday. Garlic nightcrawlers, mackerel, shrimp and the marshmallow-meal worm combo have been the top baits. Big catfish of theweek was a 7-8 landed by Russ Hazard, Colton, on shrimp off the north shore. Connie Toko, Apple Valley, landed a seven-pounder on a nightcrawler, while Ian Castaneda, Whittier, landed a five-pounder, his first fish. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.     

JESS RANCH LAKES: The trout bite was very good this past week with best action before noon on PowerBait in salmon peach, orange and garlic or nightcrawlers. The bass have been good with the fish in the shallows and showing on plastics and reaction baits. Catfish are also starting to turn on with the best bite on mackerel, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
