HESPERIA LAKE: No report. Most recent reported catfish plant was two weeks ago. Overall, the bite has been slow to fair with shrimp fished at the drain the best bet. Most of the fish planted are from just over a pound to 2-8. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: Trout bite was slow on both lakes with anglers using PowerBait (especially salmon peach, spring green and cheese), nightcrawlers, and small trout jigs or lures. Most trout are near or over two pounds. Hot spots included the north and western shore of lake 2 as well as the eastern and western shore of lake 3. Anglers reported slow to fair bass action on the western shore of lake 3 and the north and western shore of lake 2 with fish up to 4 pounds. The bluegill bite is pretty fair.
