HESPERIA LAKE: Weekly 1,000-pound plants of Mt. Lassen rainbows still ongoing. Most are one to two pounds, but some from three to eight pounds or bigger in each stock. Top spots have been the finger and the drain. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: Good trout action in both lakes with the best bite on PowerBait in salmon peach, garlic, and rainbow, nightcrawlers, or small trout jigs. The trout are running around two pounds. The bass are also starting to show in the shallows with a major movement of pre-spawn fish into the shallows. Other bites have been slow. MOJAVE NARROWS: County trout plants are weekly, and DFW rainbows went in last week and three weeks ago. Mojave Narrows Regional Park will host the final event in the four trout derby series at San Bernardino County Park lakes. This final event will be Saturday, April 1st, and over $1,000 in cash and other prizes will be given away for the top 25 trout caught. There is a $20 per angler entry. The adult event will be followed by the final 2017 Trout Derby for Kids (7 to 15 years old) on April 15. Over $1,000 prizes will be given away for the top 25 trout caught by the kids.
