SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES: Fair to good trout action after the big plants for Thanksgiving weekend. Most trout around a pound, but some bigger fish to eight pounds reported. The lake is closed on Thursday’s for trout planting. Information: 714-632-7851 or log on at www.fishinglakes.com.

IRVINE LAKE: The lake is closed and will be for at least the immediate future.

LAGUNA NIGUEL LAKE: Trout season kicked off two weeks ago with a 2,000-pound plant of one to three-pound rainbows. There was also a 1,000-pound plant last week. There are also 1,000-pound plants scheduled for the weeks of Dec. 4, 11, and 25, Jan. 8, 15, and 22, Feb. 5 and 19, and Mar. 5.
