CUCAMONGA-GUASTI: The trout action has been fair to good, especially the day or two following county plants. There has also been a fair catfish bite with some nice cats reported this past week. The best fish was a 5-pounder landed by Emanuel Antonio, Guatemala, on shrimp. Calvin Butler, Rancho Cucamonga, caught a four-pound catfish on mackerel. County trout plants are 780 pounds per week. PRADO: County trout plants are weekly with 780 pounds per stocking. DFW trout went in three weeks ago. Mike Smith, Chino, landed a two-pound rainbow on a nightcrawler east of the boat dock. The next adult trout derby in the series at the San Bernardino County Parks will be here this Saturday, Feb. 24. There is a $12 entry fee. Small boats (non-inflatable with a hard bottom) under 16 feet with electric motors are allowed. Information: 909-597-4260.

YUCAIPA: The trout bite has been fair to good this past week. Mike Covel, Yucaipa, landed a 7-10 rainbow on an orange and white MiceTail from the lower lake. County trout plants are 780 pounds per week and split between two of the lakes. There is work ongoing at the middle lake, so plants will be at the upper and lower lakes for the next few plants. A DFW plant went in four weeks ago. There will be a Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby this Saturday (Feb. 10) for children 7 to 15. Entry fee is $5 per child. Advance registration required. GLEN HELEN: The trout bite has been fair to good, especially right after the weekly county plant. County plants are 780 pounds per week, and there have been no DFW plants in over a month. Both the big and small lakes have been producing fish. Information: 909-887-7540.
