SILVERWOOD: Still tough fishing, but there has been a slow to fair bite on stripers to two pounds on cut bait and nightcrawlers off the marina docks, at the dam, and off main lake points. Marcus Hall, Hesperia, had three stripers to two pounds on sardines and nightcrawlers off the marina dock. The trout bite has remained fair in Cleghorn and upper Miller Canyon after the DFW trout plant last week. Most are half- to three-quarter pounders, but some bigger. Timothy Lee, Arcadia, had a pair of rainbows, including a two-pounder, on mini jigs in Cleghorn. Anglers should be aware of health warnings for the consumption of fish from this lake because of high PCB and mercury levels in the fish flesh and skin. Dock fishing is allowed for $3 for adults, $2 for kids and seniors. Private boats must be inspected for zebra and quagga mussels. Boats with wet lower units will be turned away. Boats inspected and tagged at Diamond Valley and Perris will be allowed at Silverwood. The park is open seven days a week.
