SILVERWOOD: Overall, slowish fishing, but the striper bite has come back on a little this past week for anglers fishing the marina docks or deep water in the main body of the lake on the points. Cut baits have been the best bet, but some also on nightcrawlers. Angel Dominguez, Fontana, had three stripers to three pounds on nightcrawlers off the marina docks. Mingyong Huang, Eastvale, had two stripers in the 1-8 range, also on nightcrawlers off the marina docks. Fly trollers also getting a few stripers. The trout bite has been slow even after the DFW plant last week. Other species are very slow, but Robert Manson, Orange County, had two largemouth to four pounds at the dam on plastics. Anglers should be aware of health warnings for the consumption of fish from this lake because of high PCB and mercury levels in the fish flesh and skin. Dock fishing is allowed for $3 for adults, $2 for kids and seniors. Private boats must be inspected for zebra and quagga mussels. Boats with wet lower units will be turned away. Boats inspected and tagged at Diamond Valley and Perris will be allowed at Silverwood. The park is open seven days a week.
