NEWS/STOCKING UPDATES: The biggest news is that San Vicente Reservoir is expected to reopen later this spring after major dam and facility work. More as details are available. Cuyamaca is still getting plants twice a month with fish slated for this week from Mt. Lassen. Lake Dixon had its annual Kiwanis Derby last weekend with a major 4,500-pound trout plant just before the event. This was also the last plant of the season. The rainbow action continues to be fair at Jennings, but its last plant of the season was a couple of weeks ago. Wohlford and Dixon received their last plants of the season last week. No DFW plants this week.
Other than trout bites, there is a generally good bass bite throughout the region as the fish move through the spawn. Many fish done spawning, but still some fish up tight.
Top trout this past week: At Dixon, the unofficial big fish in the Kiwanix Derby was a 12-12 rainbow.
Top bass this past week: At Murray, Rod Adcox, Hawaii, landed a 9-12 bass on a shineer. At Lake Wohlford, Dana Rogers, Valley Center, caught a 6.85-pound bass on a Senko.
